From the 16th of October 2023, all estate agents operating in the Valencia community are required to be registered in the Register of Real Estate Agents.
For many years Spain has lacked regulation in the real estate sector, however this has now changed. Registration and certification requires that all Estate Agents study and pass a formal examination, with over 200 hours of study required.
The legislation can impose fines for non-compliance or breaches of regulations, penalties range from €10,000 to €950,000, showing the government's commitment to ensure adherence to professional standards and client protection.
Real Estate Agents that operate in Valencian Community must have liability insurance and meet minimum financial guarantees, this applies to both Virtual Estate Agents, regardless of their locationi and also those Estate Agents which have an Office in the Valencian Community
All Estate Agents, must display their RAICV registration number, together with their insurance details.
