Sport in Spain

Nearly all Spanish Towns have their own Football grounds, these are not just for playing football but complete facilities for all age groups to enjoy the "Beautiful Game". In Spain, the PreBenjami group, starts football with Pre-Benjamin (6 - 8 years), with, Benjamin (8-10 years) Alevin, (10 to 11 years), Infantil, (12 to 13 years)  Cadete (14 to 15 years) and Junior (16 to 17 years). 

The ground pictured is in Teulada, but similar facilities exist in Benissa, Pedreguer, Javea, Denia, and Calpe, nearly every municipality has such a facility. 

At every football facility, you will find the ubiquitous cafe bar, which sells Bocodillos, Tortilla, and a whole range of food, as well as drinks. It is always a cultural awakening to see people taking a beer at 10:00 on a balmy winter morning with a Bocodillo blanco y Negro (Big Sandwish with black sausage (Morcilla) and white sausage (Salchicha) 

Everyone in Spain also has a favourite club, but they also will suport one of the Big Clubs, Real Madrid or Barcelona, many a fun night can be enjoyed in a bar in a small village when Real Madrid and Barcelona play, but it will always be good humoured with lots of Tapas and Beer being enjoyed. 

In addition to Football most towns have Football Sala (Indoor Footbal) Basketball, Gymnastics and so many more activities for Children, if you need any help in any town, then head on over to the Town hall (Ajuntament) and they are always there to help.
