FIESTAS : In Spain, we all know that with Spring, all the local towns in Spain start to gear up after the Winter with Fiestas, where better to celebrate the Fiestas than in the beautiful town of Javea-Xabia?
The town hall (Ayuntamiento) has issued the year's guide to the festivities. The Fiesta Committees have been busy raising money for these events via a variety of means, including selling lottery tickets, holding parties, advertising even guides, etc. It is a widespread belief that all of these events are funded by the local Town Hall, but this is not so. Every year as young adults reach 18 years of age they become “Festeros” and start to work on fundraising for the events to come, they work very hard at this, and so do their parents, so every year can be better than the last.

07th to the 10th of April - Artisan Craft Fair in the old town of Javea-Xabia
22nd April to the 03rd May - Fiestas in honour of Jesús Nazareno: bull-running in Pl. del Convent, competition of crosses made with flowers...
3rd May : “Pujada”, a procession to bring Jésus Nazareno back to Ermita del Calvario.
10th to 24th June - "Hogueras de San Juan" - Firework displays, bull-running in Parking Av. Palmela (current bus station), open-air music and dancing, parades, popular flower offering, parade floats
29th June to the 01 July - International Festival
16th July - "Festival of the Virgen Carmen" - Seafaring procession and floral offering.
15th July to the 23rd July - “Moros y Cristianos” (Moors and Christians) in Duanes de la Mar: presentation, open-air music and dancing, parades (23rd and 24th )
28th and 29 July - Living Chess in Puerto de Xàbia. (Festivity of National Tourist Interest)
02 August - Festival of the Virgen de los Ángeles en la Plana.
26th August to 08th September - Virgen de Loreto’s festivities: “Bous a la Mar” (bull-running in the port), processions, parade floats, fireworks displays, open-air music and dancing.
